1. The HUD provides precise and flexible information to allow the pilot to easily determine the aircraft's basic situation.

 

2. The HUD provides pseudo approach and landing capability that allow pilot to evaluate the handling quality and performance of the aircraft at altitude.
It can use for pilot training or system evaluation before committing to an actual landing.

 

3. The HUD Radar Guidance System provides a precise approach and landing capability for VMC or IMC condition by displaying perspective runway, an accurate flight path symbol and gamma prediction symbol. It may allow the pilot to use the same techniques both VMC and IMC.

 

4. The radar guidance B mode provides to pilot to use it not only for STOL configuration but also for any other configuration.

 

The HUD concepts developed may be useful and effective for future advanced display designs not only for STOL but also for CTOL
